Bakuchiol Rejuventating Facial Serum
Gentle bakuchiol gives the retinol-like effect of Vitamin A without the risk of redness, and is supported by an array of wonderful skin purifying botanicals like hemp (anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial), rosehip oil (anti-inflammatory and gently astringent), and acai berry (anti-inflammatory); while jojoba balances oily skin and argan help helps to regulate sebum production.
A 12 week clinical pilot study using a cream with 0.5% bakuchiol (ours is 1%) showed a "significant reduction in the number of inflammatory lesions and improved acne-related post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation".
So, scientists saw less acne spots, and less redness. The scientists noted that bakuchiol may be particularly well suited for people with skin of color.

General guidelines for avoiding acne
Avoid these things that can cause acne to flare up:
- humid environments - saunas, stuffy gyms, tropical holidays, hot kitchens (there's a great excuse!)
- smoking
- foundation, powder and heavier make up
- abrasive face scrubs & drying cleansers
- too much protein, amino acids and dairy
- picking at the spots
Things that may help get rid of acne:
- eat fresh fruit and vegetables
- enjoy sunlight through a window
- use a gentle cleanser in the morning and before bed
- drink plenty of water and other cleansing things like green tea, coconut water, pomegranate juice (also a great antioxidant)
- and - you guessed it - get a good night's sleep. If you're jaded you may get a cortisol surge, increasing the risk of acne breakouts.
