Because our Kawakawa Balm is all natural and free from synthetic chemicals or essential oils, it is designed to be safe for dogs, horses, cats and other animals.
Over the years we have had some great stories from animal owners who have used Kawakawa Balm to help their furry friends! There are many brands making Kawakawa Balm for pets - but we know you love your pet and want the same high quality, high potency, wild harvested Kawakawa Balm formula for them as you do for your family, so we recommend that you use our best selling Kawakawa Balm for pets too! We know families who have one jar of Kawakawa Balm for pet use and one for the people, but if you don't double dip you won't cross contaminate, and you can always scoop some into a smaller jar for your pet's special Kawakawa stash!
If your pet has dry skin, a rash, cracked paws, Kawakawa Balm may help...

Stories about Kawakawa Balm for Dogs
Here are a couple of our favourite Kawakawa Balm reviews from dog owners.
Rachel wrote to say:
"A few weeks ago we rescued a sweet dog that had been neglected. She had so many areas of broken skin, and scabs on her face. Antibiotics have cleared up the majority of her face, but in the last few days I’ve been putting Kawakawa balm on.
She loves it, and sits so still when I do it. I love that it’s natural so I know that even if she was to lick it, (on occasion when I put it else where on her) she’ll be fine. Love your product."

Little Millie is a lifetime fan. Her owner writes:
"When I got Millie as a wee puppy she had a rash so I used Frankie Kawakawa Balm. She loved the care (and the taste!!) and it was good to know that when she licked some off it was not harmful and had no nasty chemicals in it.
She still comes running whenever I open the Kawakawa Balm jar - I always use it if my dogs get cracked paw pads, grass rash, or have healing cuts."

Stories about Kawakawa Balm for Horses
Here are a couple of our favourite Kawakawa Balm reviews from horse owners.
Huia wrote to say:
"My mare is half Friesian and when she was young I couldn't work out why she kept getting a horrible dry cracked area on her face every summer. I was given some (other) Kawakawa Balm to use but it didn't help at all. I went for the big guns and pulled out my Frankie Apothecary Kawakawa Balm from my household first aid cabinet. Her face basically healed overnight and the bare patches vanished within a week, with new fur growing in.
Later I found out that Friesians are often allergic to sandfly spit so the sandfly bites were causing a large allergic reaction! Frankie's Kawakawa Balm worked so well because one, it's a really healing formula with large amounts of Kawakawa extract in... and two, the insect repellent effect of the Kawakawa leaves meant the sandflies didn't bite her as much in the first place! It was the perfect solution to her allergic reaction. You can see here how fine the horses coat is on her face, especially beneath her eyes. Who knew that the natural remedy of Kawakawa Balm from New Zealand would help a horse breed from the Netherlands!"

A winning eventing rider told our team about her horse:
"My eventing horse was doing really well in a competition, but got disqualified during trot up on the last day because he looked lame. The cause was 'Greasy heel' - an inflammatory skin condition when the back of the horse's pastern becomes cracked and often painful due to bacteria, fungi, or mites getting into the skin in wet conditions from rain, mud or damp bedding.
I was sent your Kawakawa Balm by a friend any sure enough it healed up his legs quickly. No more disqualifications for youchy skin! I use Frankie Kawakawa Balm for all sorts now, on both family and horses."
